A classy field will head to the Pacific Palisades this week and specifically the Riviera Country Club for the final leg of the West Coast swing.

"I love the golf course, I love the layout, it fits my eye - and I play very bad", Woods said Tuesday as he prepared to tee it up in the Genesis Open starting Thursday on the classic course nestled in the hills of Pacific Palisades, west of downtown Los Angeles.

Dustin Johnson is defending champion in the PGA Tour's Genesis Open at Riviera and Tiger Woods continues his comeback.

Woods will play his first two rounds (10:22 a.m. Thursday and 3:02 p.m. Friday) with McIlroy and Thomas, with whom he played the back nine on Tuesday in a practice round. I recommended Mickelson for a Top 10 last week and he finished in a tie for second.

Lee was successful in a second consecutive Monday qualifier as he tries to work his way back to the PGA TOUR.

"I love the golf course, I love the layout, it fits my eye but I play it awfully", he said. "I've always played well around here", said Casey after his near-miss.

Riviera, where Woods made his PGA Tour debut as a 16-year-old amateur in 1992, is the only course on the PGA Tour where he has played more than 10 tournaments without a victory. "He's got a heart of gold", said Woods. "I went with a shaft that's a little more stout".

Rory McIlroy: He will be looking to bounce back from last week in Monterey. "I'm sure they'll feel the same way, but it's winning time". He was T2 in his first outing here last year, and although this is his first start in the U.S. this year, he's had an encouraging start to the year - finishing T5 in Abu Dhabi before a T32 in Dubai.

"I'm sorry, but that put things into perspective for me really fast", Woods said with a laugh.

Of the other big prices, Sang-Moon Bae loves it here (8-12-8 on his only three starts from 2013-2015) and, after the inevitable struggles following his two-year absence for National Service in South Korea, he found form again last week with a T15 at Pebble Beach. A lot of that is me because I got hurt and didn't play.

The 38-year-old has four top-30 finishes, including a pair of top 10s, in six starts this season and is coming off a tie for 26th in last week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

"He's just a great kid, he really is".
