Police Officer Shot Dead by Murder Suspect During Standoff

A police officer from Mobile, Alabama, was shot and killed on Tuesday night, February 20, in Toulminville, as he approached a man suspected of shooting his ex-wife to death.

Earlier Tuesday evening, officers responding to a report of a person hit had found Fonda Poellnitz dead. This morning we grieve for the family and friends of Officer Billa who have lost a father, a son, a husband and a trusted colleague.

The officer has been identified as Justin Billa, who was killed while investigating a homicide at a home in the Toulminville neighborhood.

At least one officer fired shots back at Hollie, AL.com reported.

Around five hours after Poellnitz's body was found, the standoff ended, with Hollie dead.

Police in Mobile say it happened just after midnight when they responded to a shooting on Avondale Court.

The Congress' M Veerappa Moily said Haasan's party does not have the political space in Tamil Nadu to grow, PTI reported. The symbol of the new political party for which Haasan had "picked ideologies from everyone" is "enjoining hands".

'He didn't love my momma, ' she said. The victim of the case, Fonda Poellnitz, was found dead in the middle of the West Ridge Road in Mobile.

Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste will provide an update when the standoff ends.

Billa, who joined the force in 2016, was rushed to a nearby hospital at the University of South Alabama Medical Center, where he later died.

Following the announcement of his achievement, Billa was honored at the Officer of the Month luncheon, held in Azalea Golf Course Club, and sponsored by Midtown Optimist Club in June 2016. "That's my idea of good policing and I feel like that's what the chief is working towards".

As WALA-TV reporter Rudy Harper introduced the officer, he noted that Billa was "just six months into the job, a job he wants to do for the rest of his life".
