The spark that finally turned George W. Bush toward sobriety.

Following his death Wednesday at age 99, tributes poured in from around the world for the Rev. Billy Graham - and plans were announced for the funeral of the man known as "America's Pastor".

Graham may have been well-known to world leaders - he also advised a number of American presidents - but he didn't elevate himself above others, said Shively.

Graham was 99 years old when he passed away.

Garcia said concern about people's relationships with God was a hallmark of Graham's evangelism, as was communicating the Gospel of Christ.

His first overtures to a president were rebuffed.

Ford recalls the early days of Graham's crusades being like "a breath of fresh wind".

Glenn Wilcox, Sr. was the Graham family travel agent for decades.

He had better luck with Truman's successor, Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower.

He added Graham then prayed for him.

His close friendship with Nixon began in the late 1950s, before the Republican landed in the White House. Graham considered endorsing Nixon in the 1960 election against Democrat John F. Kennedy, when Kennedy's Catholicism became a divisive issue.

Apple may launch iPhone SE 2 at WWDC in June
Apple traditionally announces the WWDC dates in April, though it had revealed the dates for WWDC 2017 in February itself. Sadly, this piece of information happens to be true as it came directly from one of China's KGI security analyst.

"I have a very favorable view of him", said Jamil Anabtawi, president of the Islamic Center of Yakima.

The first single from Lee Brice's self-titled new album, which released in November, is "Songs in the Kitchen", which Billboard describes as having "a nostalgic and honest feel and allows you to see inside the heart of who Brice really is". And like Graham, he has the cult of personality to fill football stadiums and counsel presidents.

The Rev. Tom Nevius, senior pastor Fremont Alliance Church - "I can remember listening to him on the radio growing up and even though I was a kid, I was deeply moved by his messages".

Manfred Mann's Earth Band included a snarky reference in "Resurrection", asking on a couple of occasions, "I wonder what Billy Graham will do?"

He said it was the one verse his father based an entire sermon several years ago.

The Rev. Aaron Horton, lead pastor of Fremont Nazarene Church - "I had the opportunity to volunteer in a couple of Billy Graham's crusades when they would come to the Nashville area". He urged President Gerald Ford to pardon Nixon and supported Jimmy Carter on the SALT disarmament treaty with the Soviet Union.

"There was a big crowd there, a huge crowd, and there were people standing outside at their cars listening", she said. No evangelist is expected to have his level of influence again.

Graham became the de facto White House chaplain to several US presidents, most famously Richard Nixon. The two went for a walk that launched Bush's rejection of alcohol and embrace of Christianity. I'm lucky because I have at least one for sure and that's Billy. Graham's presence and ministry has been a singular thread in American life through generations of change and conflict.

On Monday and Tuesday, Graham will lie in repose at the Graham Family Homeplace from 8am to 10pm, when the public will be allowed to pay their respects.

His death was confirmed by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, the religious organization headed by his son.
