High Wind Warning Issued For Friday Into Saturday Morning

High Wind Warning is in effect from Friday morning to Saturday morning for most of the VA and NC coast, including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Hampton, Poquoson, Newport News, York, Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex, Northampton, Accomack, Currituck, Camden, Pasquotank.

It's Thursday when things start to go sideways.

Later today, a sunny sky will help temperature reach the low 60s across the Upstate while the mountains see highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. It'll turn colder tomorrow morning, which means the rain showers could mix with some snow and sleet, especially in the northern suburbs.

Be prepared for heavy rain, snow, flooding, and high winds. Another chance of rain or snow arrives by the middle of the week around Tuesday night and Wednesday.

With temperatures above freezing, there is little concern for snow on the roads, Marie said.
