"While it is impossible to predict which pipes will burst and where, we have had crews on standby 24 hours a day and we have been sending them wherever they are needed".

WATER companies are urging customers to use as little water as possible after extreme weather caused problems in the pipe network.

Households across the United Kingdom were further inconvenienced as thawing snow burst multiple pipes, leaving tens of thousands of homes without running water.

"This will make a real difference", the statement by Thames Water, South East Water, Southern Water and Affinity Water said.

Suppliers warned that water supplies would continue to have the issue on Monday as they worked to fix leaks and refill pipes.

A lorry arrived in Rotherfield and South East Water workers unloaded huge supplies of bottled water for distribution among residents.

It is unclear if Trump spoke directly with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un when he said North Korea "called up". It stressed that the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is non-negotiable.

South East Water urged customers to check their own properties for leaks and arrange for them to be repaired, and to only use water for "essential tasks".

Farther north, Scottish Water said there was no significant impact on its customers because Scotland had not suffered the same rapid thaw.

He said: "Where possible, take short showers rather than baths, do not leave taps running unnecessarily and only run washing machines and dishwashers when you have a full load".

A spokesperson for Thames Water said: "We are really sorry to all those customers who are now without water".

South East Water had asked homeowners, business owners and members of the public to keep an eye out for leaks after 130 million litres of extra water was pumped out across the network on Saturday.

Customers have also been asked to check their pipes for leaks and bursts and to call a plumber if necessary.
