Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway return to present Best Picture at Oscars

One of the most memorable moments in Academy Awards history happened at last year's show when Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced the wrong victor for the biggest award of the night, Best Picture.

In short, the gaffe was a culmination of Moonlight's already bumpy road to the Oscars, and a moment which made the monumental film feel like an afterthought even if it was the actual victor, rather than La La Land. Dunaway ended up blurting out La La Land, but as we all know now, the true victor was Moonlight.

Instead, it's now been announced, the Best Actress award will be presented by Jennifer Lawrence and Jodie Foster, with Jane Fonda and Meryl Streep presenting the Best Actor award.

Then moments later Jordan Horowitz, producer of the "winning" film, rushed to the microphone and said, "There's a mistake".

After the incorrect announcement that La La Land had won Best Picture, the on-stage revelry of the film's cast and crew ground to a halt once it was revealed that Moonlight had actually won the award. This is not a joke...

Cold and Quiet with a few flurries
Rain showers will continue Thursday while Friday snow levels will drop, which will cause precipitation to turn to mixed showers. Windy, with a west wind 21 to 25 miles per hour , with gusts as high as 36 miles per hour .

And hey, accepting Best Picture twice?

Steve Harvey, who famously announced the wrong Miss Universe victor in 2015, told The Hollywood Reporter last month that he knew instantly that something was wrong because of the producer's reaction. But, you know, mistakes happen.

After Beatty opened the envelope onstage, he hesitated.

Guaranteed to take to the stage of the Dolby Theater at least once are current nominees Greta Gerwig ("Lady Bird"), Kumail Nanjiani ("The Big Sick") and Margot Robbie ("I, Tonya").

'Of course, I felt bad for the people who had the Oscar taken away from them, but it just was amusing seeing all these adults in tuxedos, so panicked over the fact that somebody read the wrong name'.
