Watch the Action-Packed Trailer for Netflix's 'Lost in Space' Reboot

In this new series, the Robinson family will be part of a highly trained mission to establish a new colony in space.

Check out the official trailer for the Netflix original series Lost in Space! Estrin says the heart of the original 1963 Lost in Space series is still present in the reboot but has been updated for modern audiences.

"Danger, Will Robinson!" Netflix has released an lengthy all-new trailer for their reboot of Lost In Space.

This new Lost In Space has some talented folks in front of and behind the camera.

The trailer also features brief looks at other characters involved in the series, including Parker Posey as the mysterious Dr Smith and Ignacio Serrichio playing Don West.

On Sunday night she posed for photographs outside the Vanity Fair party in Los Angeles, showing off the new ink on her right arm. But the actress was quick to point out that the tattoo was a fake and she was cheeky in her appraisal of the situation.

Look out for appearances from Parker Posey ("Superman Returns") as Dr. Smith, Toby Stephens ("Black Sails") as John Robinson and Molly Parker ("Deadwood") as Maureen Robinson. And then, of course, there's the Robot. Interstellar was compelling in some ways and Lost in Space's producers wants fans of that film to take notice Lost in Space.

Before Star Wars, before Star Trek, before Marvel Comics got really rolling there was Lost in Space, and it was awesome. In 1998, Stephen Hopkins helmed the truly awful big-screen Lost In Space, which featured Matt LeBlanc, William Hurt, Gary Oldman and a CGI space monkey.

Lost in Space will premiere on April 13.

Written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the series tells the story of the Robinson family who are picked to try to colonization a new planet. When the new colonists find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a unsafe alien environment, lightyears from their original destination. Along with two outsiders, they wind up stranded on a planet with some treacherous terrain and harsh conditions.
