Adult film star Stephanie Clifford, who says she had an affair with Donald Trump before he was elected, is suing the president.

The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The suit claims Clifford and Trump's intimate relationship started in the summer of 2006 and went "well into the year 2007". This would allow actress to be able to give interviews about her alleged relationship with Trump or even publish a book she allegedly would be preparing focused on se bed troubles.

Trump's alias on the hush agreement was "David Dennison", and Stormy/Stephanie Clifford's was "Peggy Peterson".

In a side letter, the identity of Dennison is blacked out, but Clifford's lawyer claims that individual is Trump.

The president's attorney, Michael Cohen, denies there was ever an affair.

Cohen acknowledged last month that he used his own money to pay Clifford $130,000, and he was never reimbursed by Trump or the Trump campaign.

Mueller continues to probe members of President Donald Trump's 2016 campaign for possible collusion with Russian Federation, some lawmakers have raised ethical concerns over the president's alleged preemptive coverup of an affair with porn actress Stormy Daniels.

In January, The Wall Street Journal reported that Clifford had an affair with Trump in 2006, the year after he married Melania Knauss on Jan. 22, 2005, and a few months after their son, Barron, was born on March 20.

Trump has never addressed the alleged relationship publicly, and White House spokesperson Raj Shah told members of the press he had never asked the president about the alleged relationship. "I will always protect Mr. Trump.' (emphasis added)".

In return for the money, Clifford was not to disclose any confidential information about Trump. She said Trump had won "the arbitration" but also seemed to indicate that he may not have known about the settlement in the first place. Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen paid her $130,000 to stay quiet about the affair in 2016, when several women came forward with allegations of sexual misbehavior by Trump. "I think it's time for her to tell her story and for the public to decide who is telling the truth".

"Let's not bother to be delicate", Guthrie said to Avenatti before asking point blank: "Did she have a sexual relationship with the president?"

Stephen Gillers, a law professor at New York University and expert on legal ethics, said Cohen's work on the settlement amounted to "normal behavior" on behalf of a client.

The lawsuit says Cohen has continued his attempts at silencing Clifford - including as recently as February 27, 2018.
