The controversy led to Mahrez being absent from Leicester's training ground for a number of days, but the playmaker finally returned to Premier League action in February, before going on to score a vital equaliser for the Foxes against Bournemouth.

"But it's the past and I really don't want to talk about this".

"In football players come, players leave, I'm not saying I'm coming or going", he added, "We always talk between me and the club, everything is good, so we will see in the summer if things come".

Mahrez did admit, though, that he regretted his handling of the situation.

"You always have regrets, at that time I thought it was the best thing to do".

The Algerian is now exclusively focused on helping his side in the remaining games of the season, but declined to comment on his future, insisting he will not make speak on his decision until the end of the current campaign. "We lost a good feeling about this game and there were mistakes", said Puel, whose side travel to bottom-of-the-table West Brom on Saturday. It was hard but I was always in contact with the club. It was up to me to keep him here for the club, and for me to try to sort it out, protect Riyad and the club.

It will be a case of discussing with him, the doctor and the physios regarding when he's ready to come back. Asked about the fitness of others in his squad, Conte added: "David Luiz is injured".

"My mind and my focus is on Leicester", he said. "But at the moment I'm a Leicester player and all is good here".

"To be honest, I don't want to talk about (the summer window)". "There's still 10 games to go - nine in the league and one in the cup. We are very far away from the transfer window". They know me very well. We've moved on now.

"It was hard but I spoke with the players, I spoke with the manager, I spoke with everyone".

Mahrez also brushed off the hoax retirement announcement posted on his Facebook page this week.

"After the last consultation with many doctors, I've chose to stay away from football", the Facebook post said. I think everyone knew it was a hack. "It happens and we move on".
