Brown: Rangers talked all week, Celtic did talking on pitch

Brendan Rodgers acknowledges that seeing off Rangers to move nine points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership is "a big step" as Celtic close in on another title.

"Second-half, we go down to 10 men, but we have a plan for that - we work in training on the importance of staying calm and the shape within that and I thought the last 30 minutes demonstrated the tactical courage of the team and how we want to play with 10 men".

"I'm frustrated because I don't think we'll ever give ourselves a better opportunity to go and win the game", Murty said. "We've won here a few times now so even with ten men we still had that belief". They got back into it with a good hit from them but a poor goal from us.

When we put two strikers on that made it two-versus-two on half a pitch and I'd always fancy Odsonne and Moussa Dembele in that situation against most centre-halves. I thought they dealt with that final 30-minutes of the game really well and I'm very proud.

Bain - who signed for Celtic on loan during the January transfer window - was solid throughout the contest, making a handful of impressive stops despite going into the game still awaiting his debut for the Bhoys.

Kalonzo beats retreat, says 'at peace' after Raila-Uhuru meet
President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga pledge to end row over 2017 elections as U.S. secretary of state arrives for talks. On Friday morning, Mr Odinga and Mr Kenyatta met at Harambee House in Nairobi.

The game's big talking point was on 65 minutes when Simunovic was shown a straight red by referee Willie Collum for what looked like a deliberate elbow on Morelos.

"He didn't have enough time to officially panic - we wanted to give Dorus as much chance as he could, but this morning at half-seven I got the message to say he wouldn't be fit".

And after the game, Brown suggested that he was hugely impressed by the goalkeeper's performance and praised the way he handled the occasion of making his first appearance in an Old Firm derby.

But the Rangers caretaker boss said: "I'm really confident Alfredo will play with confidence".

However, despite their numerical advantage, Rangers were caught cold by a clinical Celtic counter-attack.
