At 6:55 a.m., police said they were called to a home in the 1100 block of Haverford Drive, near East Howard Lane and Harris Ridge Boulevard, in the Harris Ridge neighborhood.

The festival began Friday in downtown Austin and ends Tuesday.

The blasts occurred far from the heart of South By Southwest, which happens mostly in downtown Austin. He later said if this happens, stand as clear as possible until police arrive.

Special Agent Michelle Lee, a San Antonio-based spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, said the agency "responded to both events" and was assisting Austin police, who were taking the lead on investigating. He at first suggested that the blasts could constitute a hate crime, but later amended that to say authorities had not settled on a motive. The blast came from a package on House's doorstep, which is located about 12 miles away from the location of the first blast Monday. The race of the elderly woman injured on Monday is unknown.

On March 2, a man died after a package exploded on the front porch of a home on Haverford Drive.

Fifteen-year-old Isaiah Guerrero, who lives on the street behind where the most recent blast occurred, says the explosion shook him and his house.

Authorities are not releasing any details about the devices but said they know what type of explosives were used. She is said to be in a critical condition.

Police are responding to another explosion in Austin that badly injured a woman, hours after a package bomb killed a teenager and wounded a woman in a different part of the city.

Update 10:55 a.m. CDT 3/12/2018: Two deadly package explosions in Austin in the past two weeks appear similar and related, authorities said Monday, and police are warning residents against taking suspicious packages inside their homes.

"We're not ruling anything out at this point", Manley said.

He says there's now no other evidence indicating a hate crime beyond the victims' race.

According to the police report, neither package was delivered by the postal service, but both were left there overnight and then opened early in the morning.

Upon arrival, police found two injured victims inside the home: One, a 17-year-old male, later died, while the other, an adult female, was taken to the hospital with injuries. "Enjoy yourself, have a good time", he said.

Texas law enforcement is saying that a pair of package explosions at residences in Austin, Texas that left two people dead may be connected to an earlier incident. This compared to only two received the Monday before, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

The woman's injuries are not considered life-threatening.

APD is asking anyone with information to contact them.

The March 2 blast was initially investigated as a suspicious death but is now being treated as a homicide, Manley said. Three such explosions happened this month.
