Airline Air Canada has confirmed that a system failure has led to maintenance problems, causing passengers during spring break have to deal with long queues and flight delays.

According to reports from multiple airports, including Toronto and Calgary, Air Canada is now experiencing a network outage nationwide with its computer system across the country.

Air Canada said customers should expect "delays and some cancellations due to the outage".

"We apologize for any inconvenience and are working towards restoring our service as quickly as possible", the airline said on Twitter.
