Twitch gives subscribers free games every month

Viewers would then vote on their favorite games, with the title receiving the most votes being awarded to Prime members at no cost. Votes were then cast for your favorite of the games, and then on March 11 voting closed, a victor was picked, and Prime members got the winning game for free. Five games will be available in March, including Superhot, Shadow Tactics, Tales from Candlekeep, Oxenfree, and Mr. Shifty. The five games members can download that month will be Tales from the Borderlands, SteamWorld Dig 2, Kingsway, Tokyo 42, and Dubwars. Overall, there will be a whopping ten free games between March and April. The new program will upgrade the membership of Prime users by giving away a collection of free games each month.

Ever since PlayStation Plus, gaming companies have been trying to find ways to justify charging money each month for services that gaming consumers didn't use to pay for. What do you think about Twitch's Free Games with Prime initiative?

Do you have Twitch Prime?

It's been more than a year since Amazon first tapped into Twitch's customer base with perks to improve their experience.

Twitch has, of course, offered free games to Prime members before but this is the first time we've seen it formalized into an actual monthly system. All eight titles featured in the Indie Amplifier poll, which was originally only planned to deliver the top three games for free, will be included in either March and April.

Thoughts about Free Games with Prime? It could also Amazon attract new subscribers, especially gamers who might have been on the fence about joining Prime.
